The UK’s Big Six energy suppliers – British Gas, EDF, Npower, E.On, SSE and Scottish Power – continue to dominate, providing power and heat to 70% of UK homes. Through these companies, household energy bills have climbed at almost twice the rate of inflation since 1998. Today, 11 million households are paying over the odds for their energy, while also helping to fund the fossil fuel industry with which we so desperately need to cut ties. The government has legislated for the UK to become carbon neutral by 2050, which would require a quick, mass switch to renewable energy.The Solution
